How to Register an Extension from CUCM (Cisco Unified Communications Manager) to NEXUSAGE to Use the Extension Cloudly via FRC


To establish cloud-based communication between CUCM and NEXUSAGE, the extension must be properly registered on NEXUSAGE. Once registered, the extension can be accessed and used remotely through FRC


TOPOLOGY #


IN CUCM #

– Navigate to Device ->phone 

– phone type: Third-party SIP device (basic)

– Next

// Navigate to Nexusage and get mac  (as: C074AD15035C) NOT  C0:74:AD:15:03:5C (or add any 12 digits like 000000000000

– Write MAC-> C074AD15035C

– Description -> write automatically 

– Device pool -> Default

– Phone Button Template -> Third-party SIP Device (Basic)

– Owner -> Anonymous 

– Device Security Profile ->third-party SIP Device Basic- standard sip ……

– SIP Profile -> standard SIP Profile  

Click save

Navigate to User Management ->End User

Add new 

– User ID ->1010 extension number

 – Password->1010 extension Password

– Confirm password-> 1010 extension Password

– last name->DEXTER 

– Digest Credentials->1010 extension Password

– Confirm Digest Credentials->1010extension Password

Click save  

Click Device Association 

Click Find 

– Select  IP-Phone you need 

Save selected/change 

Go back 

You will find IP-phone you added 

back to Phone 

Edit phone 

– Oner-> user 

– Oner user ID -> 1010

– Digest User -> 1010

– Click save

Navigate to LINE [1]

Write your Extension 

– Directory Number->1010

– Description->1010

– Alerting Name->1010

– Write Display (Caller ID) -> DEXTER

– select Caller Name 

– select Dialed Number

Click save 

Click on Associate End Users 

Select your user ID click -> Add selected 


IN NEXUSAGE #

– Navigate to NEXUSAGE-> Connections -> Add Connections

  • Connection Name (any name of PBX)
  • IP Address (ip of pbx)
  • Transport (transport of this extension D: UDP )
  • Port (port of SIP Protocol D:5060)
  • Save

– Navigate to NEXUSAGE->Extensions -> Add Extension

  • Name (name of extension)
  • Extension Number
  • Connection (PBX we added before)
  • Password (SIP Password)
  • Concurrent Registration
  • Save

– Navigate to NEXUSAGE->FRC

  • Copy Domain
  • Note: Transport is TLS
  • Note: Port is 5162

NOW: Make sure extension is registered in CUCM

Finally, use this extension in your IP-Phone, Soft Phone

You will need

  • Number of extension: 101
  • Sip password: Dex@2107
  • Domain
  • Transport: TLS
  • Port: 5162
